Inclusive Basketball

The Atlanta Hawks are committed to providing fun and memorable basketball experiences for youth of all ages, and physical and intellectual abilities. Through our Inclusive Basketball partnerships, we are able to serve a talented demographic of youth through unique programming.
The Atlanta Hawks and Hawks Foundation have supported the BlazeSports America Wheelchair Basketball Team since 2013. Through monetary and in-kind donations, the Foundation has provided athletes with physical disabilities the opportunity to have a unique touch-point with the Atlanta Hawks brand. The BlazeSports Wheelchair Basketball Team is comprised of athletes ages 6-18 years old. The partnership alleviates BlazeSports’ expenses for uniforms, equipment repair, travel and also makes the Atlanta Hawks the title sponsor of the annual Big Peach Slam Jam, the largest wheelchair basketball tournament in the Southeast.
Through their Special Olympics Georgia partnership, formed in 2019, the Atlanta Hawks aim to grow the participation rate of athletes with intellectual disabilities who are participating basketball by providing monetary and in-kind donations, as well as basketball experiences. The partnership has created Special Olympics brackets at various tournaments, provided tshirts to all basketball athletes at the SOGA Winter Games and made the Atlanta Hawks the venue sponsor for Basketball at the 2019 Special Olympics Winter Games.
