The Atlanta Hawks Jr. NBA Community Coach Of The Year, Clark Humble, has been coaching for +20 years and leading at the East Marietta Basketball organization for over 11 years. Coach Humble was chosen based on the positive impact he has made through initiating and organizing community outreach programs like feeding the homeless, mentorship programs for children of inmates (Kids2Leaders) and volunteering at local food banks with his student-athletes. As president of East Marietta Basketball, he has expanded the basketball program significantly and has helped raise over $30,000 in scholarships for kids/families who want to play but need financial assistance. Humble emphasizes personal growth, academic focus and community involvement for his student-athletes. By demonstrating outstanding integrity, character and leadership, Clark has made a lasting impact on the student-athletes both on and off the court as well as his community.
Fun Fact! Clark Humbler is also a Guinness Book Of World Record Holder as he has visited over 131 college football stadiums and games in 5 years and 3 months, the fastest time in history to complete this goal!

The Atlanta Hawks Jr. NBA Scholastic Coach Of The Year, Anthony Hand, has been coaching for 5 years leading teams and basketball programs at the Cumberland Academy and currently is the Athletic Director at the Chaya Mushka Children's House.
Anthony Hand has shown unwavering dedication to the educational achievement and individual development of his scholar-athletes. He helps lead weekly grade checks and study sessions for scholar-athletes - focusing on personal growth strategies such as individual goal setting and time-management development. Anthony implements a mentorship program pairing older players with younger players for support and guidance on and off the court. He also helps conduct leadership workshops to enhance athletes’ leadership skills and promotes mental well-being through counseling, mindfulness exercises and team bonding activities to create a positive team environment. Coach Anthony was chosen based on the positive impact he had made on the lives of all of his student-athletes on and off the playing field as he demonstrates outstanding character, ambition and leadership.

Jr. NBA Community Coach of the Year
- Coach that exhibits a lasting impact on their community as a whole; coach can work with non-profit and community organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, or club/travel-based programs.
Jr. NBA Scholastic Coach of the Year
- School coach, which could include a P.E. teacher, a teacher that coaches a school-based team, or a part-time employee that coaches the school team.
One winner will be selected to represent the Atlanta market for the (2024-2025) Jr. NBA Community Coach of the Year and one winner will be selected to represent as the Jr. NBA Scholastic Coach of the Year.
The Atlanta Market nominees will receive:
- Recognition at a future Hawks game
- Co-branded Jr. NBA & Atlanta Hawks Coach of the Year Trophy
- Atlanta Hawks Prize Pack - including an autographed item
- Free USA Basketball Coach License (2024-2025)
- Three (3) Positive Coaching Alliance books
- Access to one (1) Positive Coaching Alliance DGC1 online course
- Recognition on Jr. NBA Coach of the Year website
*Must coach kids between the age of 6-14 to be eligible. Application closes March 8, 2024
In addition, they will be automatically entered into the National Jr. NBA Coach of the Year Selection Process, along with a chance to win $5,000 to support their program and continue to serve the community.
